Are you fighting the temptation to shop?

LADIES love a bit of retail therapy, whether it be rummaging around clothes shops, or heading to the salon. The point is, many female students are binge buying and flaunting their loans, grants and bursaries in the high-street shops.

Seasonal trends
Emma Grafton-Williams, a first year student, shares her view.

Do you enjoy clothes shopping?
Yes I do, I have to go in every shop to find the best garment.

Where do you shop the most?
Topshop and New Look, because of the good quality and there is always something quite 'funky' in store. New Look is good for essentials such as socks and tights.

Do you find yourself in the more expensive stores?
No because I know it is out of my price range. I wouldn't go to somewhere like Monsoon because I know I can't afford it.

Are you easily persuaded when you're faced with something you want?
No, unless I've had my eye on it for ages. I think its important to control myself, I usually write down what I want and manage my money

Do you shop online? If so, do you think the ease of ordering online makes people spend more?
It's desirable, but I don't like taking the risk, I'd rather try something on in a shop. If people have the money on their card, it's going to be easier than going to the shops.

Do you think that students spend for the sake of it?
I think that some students aren't used to having a lump sum in their bank accounts, I think this encourages them to go a bit crazy when it comes to novelty items.

I'd love to hear what other students feel about this issue, if you are interested, comment below.
